In early 2019 popular social-first video news publisher, NowThis News, announced a new extension of the brand dubbed NowThis Originals that would focus on series and long-form videos.
I acted as lead designer, tasked with creating a new home for this fresh slate of content that would work cohesively with the well known NowThis brand of news stories. This new site would help fortify the brand’s presence as a full-fledged (and advertiser friendly) production studio.
The solutions my team and I reached made use of a shallow site architechture, consisting of only two page types as well as a full screen video player state. This kept navigation simple and allowed for the quickest path to video viewing.
We reserved prime screen space to feature the beautiful looping teaser videos, logos, and card assets being prepared by the NTO creative team that represented each series. My team and I provided safe zone templates and best practice guides for all on-site creative.
